Visit the Garden Society in the city center
Just a stone’s throw from the city centre is the Garden Society of Gothenburg (Trädgårdsföreningen) – one of the best preserved nineteenth-century parks in Europe. And a short tram ride away you’ll find Gothenburg Botanical Garden, a world class botanical garden with more than 16 000 different species of plants.

Paddan
Sightseeing along the canals of Gothenburg.
Step aboard the Paddan sightseeing boats in the centre of the city at Kungsportsplatsen. See the old moat and canals that date from the 17th century while learning about the history of Gothenburg’s construction and defence.
New Älvsborg Fortress
Älvsborg, in the harbor inlet, is arguably the best-preserved fortress in Sweden. Famed for holding back the Danes during the 1717-19 war, the fortress was attacked time after time without ever being occupied. Today, it’s one of the most popular boat excursions in Gothenburg. There’s a regular boat trip from Lilla Bommen to this island to adventure through the ravelins, passages, bastions, magazine and gun emplacements.
Volvo Museum
Volvo Museum takes you on a journey through Volvo’s history, from the start in 1927 until today. 8000 square meters of cars, buses, machines and engines as well as permanent and temporary exhibitions with unique concepts. All signed Volvo. At the entrance you will find a café, a shop and a play corner for children.
